I’ve been pretty quiet about all the hullabaloo about Gonzalez being denied tenure at ISU and the Faith in America organization trying to bring everyone together and, you know, actually stop hating homosexuals, but take a look at the Ames Tribune’s Letters to the Editor (accessed June 3, 1007). There are letters there from across the US up in arms about Gonzalez, and the local crazies are coming out of the woodwork about Faith in America. I’d like to think that they could just step back for a second and listen objectively to themselves, and see how ridiculous and bigoted they sound, but since I used to wear those very blinders myself, I understand why rationality doesn’t take hold.
I think I’ll join PFLAG, just to piss off the far right.
