Adventures in Home Repair

Today, with Stevie’s help, I replaced a pane of glass. This was in our front room, and the weather is getting cold, so I thought this might be a good thing to get done this weekend.

I have learned the following:

1. Next time, buy a real set of chisels. Screwdrivers don’t work as well as a substitute as you might think.

2. Ancient, hardened window putty is evil.

3. The storm windows appear to be installed ass-backwards. Or something. My house continues to confound me and amaze me that it’s still standing.
