Trump must be stopped. Not in four years, but beginning now. Our aim must be not just to survive but to defeat his attempt to impose a fascist America on the world. This utterly illegitimate racist, misogynist, and chauvinist has already unleashed something very ugly in the society and he isn’t even in office yet; the actual consolidation of his regime would threaten true catastrophe for people all over the world.

You get Donald J. Trump when your society (or a large chunk of it) insists that men aren’t men unless they are bullies and predators. When it glorifies power as the sole measure of success.

We’ve had this for centuries. Non-whites have been pushed down, oppressed. Women have been oppressed. Education has been belittled.

Mr. Trump is finally being seen as a predator, and this has been our ideal of the successful man. It’s not just about sexual advances, but about power. Our worship of blind power leads to the strong few destroying the masses, and we will worship them for it.

Men, I ask you, is this really what you want?

My new job!

I am now working part-time at the Portland store of Ham Radio Outlet! I’ll be helping match you with your perfect radio and accessories.

This means I’m decreasing my presence at Breitenbush and within the next few weekends or so will only be doing fill-in work there. It’s been a great 5 and a half years, and I’ve learned a lot about myself. However, I noticed everything I wanted to do was *not* at the springs, so it was time to move into a tiny house in the city, in this case the Milwaukie area of Portland.

I’ll be sure to let you know how it goes.

I’ve felt for a long time that ham radio in the US needed to support scouting beyond the Boy Scouts of America. This is good step forward.

The ARRL has begun offering a new Girl Scouts “Radio and Wireless Technology” patch program that offers opportunities for participants to learn about wireless technology, including Amateur Radio.
